Competition Terms & Conditions

Competition Details:

This Competition (“Competition”) is valid at participating Northside branches and Northside online store in South Africa.

Competition Period:

The Competition is valid from 12 April 2025 to 30 June 2025 (the “Competition Period”).

Eligibility:

The Competition is open to individuals over the age of 18 who spend R2000 or more at one of our 5 Northside’s branches and online store during the Competition Period.

WIN a trip to Mauritius for two or R50 000 Offer

Participants who spend R2000 or more within the Competition Period will receive an entry into the draw.

The more a participant spends, the more entries that participant will receive. One entry for every R2000 spent. For example, if customer A spends R6000 then customer A will receive 3 entries into the draw. 

The first place winner will choose the trip to Mauritius OR the R50 000 (fifty thousand rand) cash as their prize. Once the first place winner has chosen and signed for their prize then the runner-up winner will receive the remaining prize. For example, customer A was drawn as the first place winner and chose the R50 000 (fifty thousand rand) cash prize. Therefore, the remaining prize is the trip to Mauritius for two which is then given to customer B who was drawn as the runner up winner. 

If the runner up does not want the trip to Mauritius and would prefer the R50 000 (fifty thousand rand), this will be accepted as their prize choice.

A participant is only eligible to win one of the two prizes. One prize per person.

Once prizes have been chosen and confirmed in writing, they are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other products or services.

The trip to Mauritius includes return economy class flights from OR Tambo international for two to Mauritius plus 5 nights’ accommodation. Tickets may not be used during certain periods and are only valid on selected dates as advised following the competition.

The R50 000 (fifty thousand rand) cash prize will be deposited into a South African bank account. The Winner will be required to provide a bank confirmation letter for a South African bank account, into which the Prize should be paid, within 14 (fourteen) days from being requested to do so, failing which, the Prize may be forfeited at the discretion of the organisers. Northside Electrical will pay the Prize into the Winner’s selected bank account within 30 (thirty) days from receipt of the confirmation of the bank account from the Winner.

The Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for any other items.

Entry to the competition:

To enter into the draw for the WIN A TRIP TO MAURITIUS FOR TWO OR R50 000 participants must spend R2000 or more and complete the entry form during the Competition Period.

Participants must comply with any additional instructions or requirements provided by the store staff or northsideelectrical.co.za to obtain the Entry into the competition.

Failure to follow the necessary steps or provide the required information may result in the participant’s ineligibility to be entered into the draw for the competition.

Only valid in South Africa. The competition is open to legal, permanent residents or citizens of the Republic of South Africa that are over the age of 18.

How to enter the competition:

Instore:

1. Spend R2000 or more (including VAT) on any Northside Electrical products at one of our 5 Northside Electrical branches (click here for branch info)
2. Scan the QR code to direct you to the electronic competition entry form.
3. Complete the necessary details with accurate, up to date information.
4. Submit form and receive a confirmation email.

Online:

1. Spend R2000 or more (including VAT) on any Northside Electrical products on our online/ecommerce store.
2. Complete and pay for your order.
3. Once payment is successful, you will receive an email with a link to the electronic competition entry form.
4. Click the link and complete the necessary details with accurate, up to date information.
5. Submit form and receive a confirmation email.

General Conditions:

The prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

The company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

The company’s decisions regarding any aspect of the Competition, including eligibility and disputes, shall be final and binding.

The organisers’ decision regarding any matter concerning the Competition and/or arising out of these terms and conditions, including the determination of the Winner, is final and no correspondence will be entered into except where otherwise provided for in the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008.

The winner will be chosen at random from all entries received and verified by the promoter.

During the verification of the winner’s entry form, should any information be inaccurate, falsified or other conditions effecting eligibility, the winner will be disqualified and re-drawn.

The draw takes place on 10th July 2025. The winner will be notified by email and announced on social platforms.

The Winner must accept their prize in writing within a week of being contacted.

Winner and their guest must confirm their holiday dates with Northside Electrical within one month of accepting their prize.

The routing may not be changed after the ticket is issued.

Prize winner tickets may not be used during peak period / season: school holidays and public holidays

The validity period of the prize is 15 July 2025 to 15 July 2026 and during the specified dates by Northside Electrical. This period may not be extended nor changed.

By entering, the participant agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions

Entrants must reside in South Africa.

Persons are not eligible to enter this Competition if:

1.1 You are a director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the organisers of the Competition, or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the organisers;

1.2 You are an immediate family member of any of the persons specified in clause 1.1.

1.3 You are a supplier of goods or services in connection with the Competition.

Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agreed to be bound by them when entering. These rules are legal and binding upon entrants.

Northside Electrical reserves the right to disqualify any entrant suspected of fraud or cheating including without limitation, through the manipulation of code or otherwise falsifying data.

Any credits or refunds on the qualifying invoices/purchases will be taken into account and affect entries according to the total balance thereafter.

The winners will be notified by means of the contact details provided to us. If we are unable to contact a winner within 7 working days of first notification, or should the winner not be able to accept the prize, the winner will forfeit the prize and Northside Electrical reserves the right to re-draw a new winner under the same conditions.

It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that any information provided to us is accurate, complete and up to date.

The prize does not include travel between the winner’s home and O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, travel insurance, transfers, visas, car hire, food and drink other than stated, personal expenditure or incidental costs, excursions, items of personal nature, other than where mentioned. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to ensure they have valid passports and travel insurance and obtain any necessary vaccinations if any for their trip.

By entering this Competition, the entrant consents to the collection, processing and further processing of his or her personal information (including personal information contained in electronic communications) by us for the purposes of conducting this Competition and facilitating the entrant’s participation in the Competition. Except where prohibited by law or where objected to by the individual at any time, the Winner grants permission for us and those acting under our authority to use his or her name, and or photographs, and or voice for purposes of announcing the Winner and related advertising purposes, in any form of media and without additional compensation, notification or permission. A Winner may at any time decline an invitation to use, or object to the use of, his/her image in marketing material. 

Limitation of Liability:

Northside Electrical shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participating in the Competition, Claiming, Redeeming, Traveling, and or any related activities to the prize whatsoever.

Winner and their guest may use the prize at their own risk.

Participants agree to release, indemnify, and hold the company, its employees, officers, and agents harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from or related to their participation in the Competition.

Governing Law:

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from or in connection with the Competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in South Africa.
